Daycare for children of the Studentenwerk Marburg
Studying with a child – the Studentenwerk Marburg helps you!
The Studentenwerk Marburg provides you a reliable full-day-care of your children under three years old, under the responsibility of two day-care centres. In doing so we aim at facilitating the compatibility of family, studies and job.
As a cooperating partner of Philipps-University and as a competent service company with a social mission, running two day-care centres we support the audit family-friendly university. In that way we contribute significantly to the realization of equal opportunities, encouraging and supporting women as well as the internationalization of studies.
Our child care services are supposed to facilitate your studies or scientific education with a child without greater interruptions, since students with children are often in the conflict between study requirements and the need for care of their children. The multiple stresses of studies, child and partly also a job, which is often necessary to finance studies and family, make a reliable full-day care indispensable to student-parents.
Daycare
Our two day care centres offer 70 full-day places in mixed age groups. The children at the age of 6 months to 3 years receive pedagogical care by our qualified staff.
The food is prepared according to the needs of children on-site at the day-care centre by a chef of the Studentenwerk. The day-care centre Erlenring is also supplied from here.
In both institutions, we promote the development of the child to an independent and socially competent personality. This task includes the care for and the education and upbringing of the children. This offer is oriented at the pedagogic and organizational needs and living conditions of children and parents.
Through situational and experience-oriented working, the children are offered a great variety of possibilities and impulses in their daily life. In mixed age groups of manageable size, the day-care centres are able to propose a family-complementing living area encouraging the children to enlarge their scope of social experiences.
The life in the day-care centres is characterized by respect to the children’s individuality, a feeling of security and being accepted and respected, and continuity in a stimulating and well-structured learning environment for children of that age.
The day-care life is based on repeating rhythms and elements in the daily routine, which is intentionally structured that way. There are fixed sleeping and eating times, stable reference persons, whom the children need in order to gain confidence, inner security and orientation. In an atmosphere of security, the children are accompanied in their individual development by motivated qualified personnel in close cooperation with the parents. In the interest of the children, a good cooperation of our staff and the parents is important; the parents should actively participate especially during the acclimatization period of the children and get an insight in the day-care centre’s routine.
In the course of the internationalization of studies, both day-care centres have become a place of encounters for children and parents from various countries and cultures.
With a quota of 20% of the places for children of parents from other countries, we actively support this.
